Crop protection evaluation

PGRO conducts extensive contract trial work in both field and glasshouse on behalf of agrochemical and fertiliser companies. PGRO is officially recognised by HSE as an efficacy testing organisation. All work is carried out with complete confidentiality.

Evaluation

The PGRO has an established reputation for producing good quality Vegetable legume, Pulse trials and Vegetable trials for quality or demonstration purposes on a private contract research basis. Crop and plot, trial services include:

Breeding line evaluation

As well as near finished varieties, PGRO evaluates breeders lines providing a bespoke early evaluation service for breeders.

Disease resistance screening

PGRO has laboratory and glasshouse facilities for in vivo screening of varieties or breeding lines for diseases such as downy mildew, root disease complex or specialist screening such as cavity spot susceptibility in carrots.
