PGRO adjoins the southbound carriageway of the A1 at Thornhaugh, approximately eight miles west of Peterborough and four miles south of Stamford.

Access from the south is via the Carpenters Lodge roundabout south of Stamford.

Access from the east can be via the B1443 which can be joined from the A47 at Thorney or the A15 at Glinton, turning to a minor road at Barnack which intersects the A1 at Wittering, two miles north of PGRO.

From the west, access to the northbound carriageway of the A1 can be effected just south of Carpenters Lodge roundabout leaving the A43 at Easton-on-the-Hill for a minor road signposted to Barnack.
