Agrochemical evaluation
PGRO conducts extensive contract trialing work in both field and glasshouse on behalf of agrochemical and fertiliser companies. PGRO is officially recognised as a field trials establishment for agricultural and horticultural pesticide development issued by CRD. All work is carried out with complete confidentiality.
Variety evaluation
PGRO has a wealth of experience in variety evaluation trials and conducts an annual programme generating agronomic and food quality data of peas and beans. With both field trials and the facilities to freeze or can pea and bean produce, PGRO provides a complete evaluation service from field to fork.
Breeding line evaluation
As well as near finished varieties, PGRO evaluates breeders lines in home based or in off-site trials providing a bespoke early evaluation service for breeders.
Disease resistance screening
PGRO has both laboratories and glasshouse facilities which allow in vivo screening of varieties or breeding lines for diseases such as downy mildew, root disease complex or specialist screening such as cavity spot susceptibility in carrots.
