Seed Testing Service

The PGRO laboratory is a well equipped seed testing lab.

In conjunction with the glasshouse complex, seed lab facilities and trained seed analysts, the team carry out a range of seed tests for the crop research and private seed testing contracts.

Specialist tests are offered for seed Quality, seed Vigour and seed Health.

  • Fungal diseases:
  • Hollow heart / Marsh Spot - Peas
  • Foot rot – soil test
  • Bacterial diseases: including Bacterial blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv pisi) and Halo blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv phaseolicola)
  • Viruses: including Pea Seed-borne Mosaic Virus (PSbMV)
