Lentil value chain for food at a national scale (France)

image1
Even if lentil is a minor culture without visibility at national level in France, its production level has consequently grown in recent years from 16,570 ha in 2014 to 20,920 ha in 2016. The green lentils from “Le Puy” and “Berry” regions are the most famous ones known worldwide, but the production areas are also extending in the other regions (Champagne, Vendée…).

The project gives the opportunity to conduct a sector diagnosis through interviews of some stakeholders involved in the French lentil supply chain. They will share their know-how in lentil as well as their management of their lentil based activities and help identify barriers and levers for the development of lentil value chain at a national level.
