Pests, Diseases & Weeds

PGRO operates seasonal pest and disease monitoring services in conjunction with partner organisations. These monitoring services run throughout the appropriate risk periods of the growing season and provide critical advice and guidance based upon timing and perceived risk levels.

The monitoring services cover:

  • Downloadable AHDB Aphid Newsheets.
  • Bruchid Beetle and BruchidCast ® and warning service.
  • PGRO Crop Clinic advisory service for PGRO members.
  • Crop Monitor web site.
  • Pea Moth Technical Updates and spray dates.

A link to each service is shown in the box on the right hand side of this page.

PGRO also maintains a database of descriptions and pictures of the key pests and diseases affecting field beans and combining peas.

These include pea wilt, leaf and pod spot, downy mildew, rust and sclerotinia as well as other major pest and diseases.

A link to the databases is shown on the right hand side of this page.
